Gift of Assets

Cash

Cash is acceptable in any form. Checks are to be made payable to St. Pius X School and may be delivered to the school’s administration office. Gifts of cash can be deducted against a larger portion of your taxable income than can gifts of appreciated assets (50% vs. 30% for example). Cash is the simplest donation and provides St. Pius X School with immediate benefits.

Tangible Personal Property

All other gifts of tangible personal property will be examined in light of the following criteria:

  • Does the property fulfill the mission of the School?
  • Is the property marketable?
  • Are there any undue restrictions on the use, display, or sale of the property?
  • Are there any carrying costs for the property?

Securities

Another way of providing benefit to St. Pius and immediate tax advantage to the donor are through any of the following financial instruments:

  • Publicly Traded Securities
  • Closely Held Securities
  • Real Estate
All donations of this type will be examined by St. Pius X School administration as to marketability and suitability for the school.  For more information, please contact St. Pius School Administration.
