The students in St. Pius X Grade 3 are educated spiritually, socially, and emotionally. The core academic subjects include religion, mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, and reading. The curriculum is further enhanced with music, art, physical education, Spanish, and technology. In addition, the students are taught empathy towards others and the teacher provides opportunities for lessons on social justice, selflessness, and civic responsibility through service towards others. An example of this would be when the students make cards for the elderly, sick, or sympathy cards for families who have lost a loved one, or thank you cards for various members of the community. The students are encouraged to recognize their individual gifts from God and use them to the best of their ability. Most important, the students are taught kindness towards their classmates and learn to work cooperatively in pairs or small groups.
